Ah thank you.  I forgot to mention that I would plan buy it on Steam.  Like if I "rent" it on Steam, my progress would still carry over if I bought on Steam and not Origin?

Yes. If you "rent" BF1 with EA Play on Steam, your progress will still remain if you fully buy the game at a later date.

However, progress will not carry over between Origin and Steam. I know that wasn't part of the question, but just figured it's good to know.

I've been interested in playing Battlefield 1 lately.  I want to try it out through EA Play on Steam before deciding to buy it.  I just need clarification on a little detail - if I try out BF1 on EA Play, will my progress carry over if I buy it later on?
