A game about cartography

Basically that. I can't find any game where you have to graph a territory. I know there are games where you have to chart the map by putting markers and all that. But if possible, I'd like a game that goes beyond just putting markers, though I doubt something like this exists.

But if you knwo of something close to it i'd be appreciated.

Salt has something like that. Miasmata as well, but more basic if I'm remembering it correctly.

Carto? I think you not only explore an area, but partly create it. Map tiles go down like jigsaw puzzle pieces.

Curious Expedition has a bit of this. Essentially mapping out dangerous territories while trying to beat other CPU’s scores. A few different types of play-styles. It’s a fun little game to pick up and play a quick session.

Hm, I did that with subnautice, the game has no map and I wanted a map, so I took a piece of A2 paper, a pencil, ruler and other stuff and started making an irl map of the games surrounding. So my suggestion, maybe try that, its not really a game, but you get to make maps. And if the game already has maps you can compare the one you made and the gamemap to see how good/bad you are at it.

There was a series of dungeon crawlers on the DS, called Etrian Odyssey, where the second screen was used for a map of the dungeon. However, unlike most games, you'd actually have to draw in the map as you went. The game would handle floor tiles you actually walked on, but you'd have to draw in everything else, including the walls.

I've always wanted another game, preferably on PC, to do something similar, but I've yet to find it.

Miasmata is exactly what you want. Its from 2012, so its got some age to it, but you have to use in game landmarks and sight bearings to triangulate your location as you record your map.
