Does Ashwagandha result in shedding like Rogaine?
I've been on minoxidil for about 16 months. I had an incredible amount of shedding when I first began, but thanks to the posts here I stuck it out and am glad I did. My hair loss seemed to be starting up again slowly, and I read some things about ashwagandha and started it about 1.5 months ago and I am shedding just like when I started the Rogaine. It is pretty diffuse, but the hair I gained in the front with Rogaine seems to still be here.
Has anyone else has this experience? I've heard it helps and seen before and after photos, but nothing about the shedding. I do have PCOS, so I am also on metformin, spironolactone, and synthroid. 34/F if it matters. I'm hoping it isn't causing the hair loss because it has really seemed to help with my stress levels, anxiety, and depression, so the lower cortisol levels will be good for me even if it isn't helping my hair.

Ashwagandha increases testosterone so that means more DHT. It can cause shedding.
And idea if it is shedding that gets replaced? I'm on 150mg of spironolactone a day to help lower my testosterone levels but maybe it needs raised?
Wait for a few days and see. The spiro is reducing yout testo, but the introduction of ashwagandha might have increased it, so it leads to shedding.
If I got sides from fin and the used ashwagandha will it fix my sides.
I appreciate the help. I got my testosterone levels checked today and they're on the lower side (15 ng/dl free testosterone). But my DHEA-S almost doubled from right before I was taking minoxidil.
