PSA about PTA: PTA is a cooperative game mode disguised as a competitive mode
There's a lot of complaining about this mode, some legitimate, some not so much, but I think a lot of people will enjoy it more if you understand that the aim of the game is not, usually, to wipe out the "opposing" team as quickly as possible. It's, usually, to prolong the game as long as possible so that as many key toons on both sides get chance to play.
And that means you have to cooperate. Can you one shot the other's Squirrel Girl? Is your awesomely leveled up toon's AOE likely to wipe out most of the other person's team? STOP. Don't do it, unless you see the other person has intentionally picked people who cannot possibly be picked to get to certain milestones. (And that happens, and you should do it too! Right now look for underpowered heroes who aren't F4, SG, or mutants, for example.)
The longer the game goes on for, the more turns you'll get with the toons you're trying to score points with, and that'll be true for the other player too. So it's time to change everything you love and know about PvP - live or otherwise.
How do you know if you're doing it wrong? Well, do you have a lot of people quitting in your games for no apparent reason? Well, they just quit because you knocked out their 5k toon-with-objectives on the first hit, so there was literally no point in them continuing the game. And you lost because of that too. Sure, it said you won, but you maybe got a single KO, and you probably didn't get to play your toons with objectives either.
This isn't PvP. It looks like it. It's even advertised as "Arena". But until you've completed those objectives, and only have the KO objectives left, you should be 100% cooperative and completely forget about trying to wipe out your opponent as quickly as possible. It's in your best interests to do that.

Look, I'm all for not actively harming you farming your points, but I'm there to win. I want the 5 knockouts so I don't have to play as many matches so I'm not going to try to be cooperative with you.
You create a team that protects your character you need to take a turn, and I'll do my best not to kill it before it takes a turn. But if you bring along Hela and I have to kill Greg to avoid hitting your trash with splash damage, your trash is going down.
It's important to remember that you don't need every single point from every single objective to complete the battle pass. If you're having problems completing a task, just ignore it. It's not on other people to make your life easier.
EDIT: It came in a flash what the problem here is: If you're (any reader of this, not merely the parent poster who I think is too defensive right now to recognize the problem) putting "wins" ahead of getting ahead, you probably have a serious mental issue in real life. There's a good chance you also have a gambling addiction. I'm struggling to understand the logic. You're saying you're so obsessed with "winning" that you're going to blast your opponent even though it'll reduce your chances of earning points (except for KOs, which are the hardest to earn and therefore the least rewarding)?
How does that make sense? Winning in order to minimize the rewards and maximize the effort you put in?

I get more rewards from wiping your team than letting them live. It’s easy math for me I don’t get any rewards for letting them live.

I can't help it if you're going to act like an asshole because you, by your own admission, prefer "wins" to scoring.
EDIT: I get the downvotes, I really do: nobody likes it being pointed out they're an asshole, and the knuckle draggers are really super offended by the very notion they should ever have to cooperate with anyone.
But... you know as well as I do that most people are trying to get all the objectives, not just the KOs. And when you intentionally fuck with that, which is what the caveman I'm responding to is doing, because he doesn't like seeing "Defeat" on his screen even if it means getting more points than seeing "Winner", you end up being the one who's punished with early quits. You end up running 5x as many games as you would have done otherwise, each game requiring set up, initialization, etc, so each being almost as long as the cooperative game you could have had. Except 1/5 of the rewards.
The guy I'm responding to is an idiot as well as someone with an aggressiveness problem in real life. Don't feed it. You're not helping him, and if you're agreeing with him, you should probably think about whether you really should be in that position.
As an aside, if you're the parent poster, or you're downvoting me, do you also have problems with gambling? It takes a similar mentality - again "I'd prefer to 'win' than actually improve my standing".
