New PEUC attached to old 2018 claim. What do I do?
I applied for PEUC a couple of weeks ago and got the monetary determination letter. The amount was slightly higher than expected by $30, but all seemed normal besides that. (Now I’m wondering if it was because it’s connected to my old claim where I had a slightly better salary.) I received my last UI payment earlier today and was hoping the PEUC would reflect on my claim after that normal UI payment hit zero.
I’m panicking a bit now, because it says my current UI claim for 2020 is expired and grayed out. My only active status is now on an old 2018 claim. I now see that my PEUC monetary determination is under the letters tab on this old claim.
Under my old now “active” 2018 claim, it now has the option “restart my claim to begin filing again”. And the Weekly Summary status says “You have enough benefits left for 32 payments as long as you remain eligible, however your claim ends 12/26/2020.” This doesn’t make any sense to me, because I though the PEUC only lasts 13 weeks.
Please help! I don’t know what to do at this point and appreciate any guidance. I know I’ll need to file a claim somehow this week for PEUC and don’t even know how to continue at this point. Taking a deep breath and turning to my fellow redditors.
Update: I called unemployment, and they fixed it. They said it would stay on my old claim, but they did have to fix it so the status didn’t request that I reopen the old claim. Crossing my fingers that I receive the money as usual with no issues, and that PEUC and PUA get extended past 12/26! Thank you for all of your help! :)
