My client blocked my #

Disclaimer: I am in the field of human services, not social work. The human services sub has very few members, so I figured I would get a better response here! I know our work is quite different and I commend you for the work you do.

I work as a home visitor for an agency that provides support to new, low-income mothers be it parenting resources and information/education, supplies, referrals, etc. Some of my clients need my services more than others and having a home visitor is required if someone is receiving an alternate education through us (like a GED). In short, I completely understand if some of my clients want to keep our conversations and interactions to the bare minimum. They have plenty of things in their lives going on. However I tried contacting one my my clients today to see if she needed formula before I leave for a break for Christmas and come to find out I have been blocked. My supervisor said this has never happened before in her 10 years at the agency and we can tackle the issue after the new year.

My point being, has this ever happened to anyone in a position similar to mine? Again, I very much understand the reality of being "ghosted" by clients in this profession, however I am feeling a little lost and alone here :/

Thank you!
