Is a hygienist a ‘mid level’ provider
I was reading an article that described new dental therapists as dentistry’s first mid level providers. I always thought of the hygienist as a mid level, thoughts?

Dental therapy (advanced- at least in MN) is mid-level in the sense that they can diagnose and treat without the doctor, similar to a nurse practitioner if that makes sense- hope this helps! 🙂
Hygienists can’t diagnose where you are?
Some states recognize dental hygiene diagnosis (covering the scope of dental hygiene practice) however, to the best of my knowledge, even those states require a "final" diagnosis by a dentist.
i love your name!
Thanks!
