Where to photography LA skyline from the East looking West.

I was driving on the 10 toward downtown this morning when I could see the skyscrapers lit up with the reflection of the sunrise. Where can I photograph that without anything obstructing the view? Is there a high point somewhere in East LA or something? Thank you and Merry Christmas!
