OBJ

I was just watching some Browns hype/highlights while doing some Christmas cooking and I really, REALLY hope OBJ comes back and produces like the top-10 WR he is. I’m in the camp that Baker was still learning Stevski’s playbook early on and since he was uncomfortable tended to “force-feed” OBJ as his security blanket, which didn’t work out well. But losing OBJ forced him to spread the ball around and actually go through progressions rather than default to OBJ as soon as the play started breaking down, on top of becoming more familiar with the playbook. OBJ doesn’t need 15 forced targets a game to succeed, he just needs 5 good targets where Baker finds him open in man coverage because you KNOW he can win 1v1 against anyone in the league. I know we are gonna have a hard time paying the man.... but he’s still in his prime and next year is THE year. Defense healthy, Baker proving he can ball out, the running game lethal af.... OBJ gives us that extra edge, provided he can work in the system and not demand more targets.

Super hot take, I think the biggest surprise this off-season will be OBJ’s contract getting restructured to be more team friendly. I think he really wants to be here and he’s gotta be able to smell what Stevski and the Baker are cookin.
