Why The School Fight Scene From Season 1 Is My Favorite Scene
Cobra Kai is one of my favorite TV Shows because of the well-written characters, different ways of karate, paying respect to the original Karate Kid franchise from the 80's and how it redeems Johnny Lawrence to show that he wasn't such A bad guy in the Karate Kid. It leaves me very excited for S3.
One of my favorite scenes from the show was how Miguel Diaz kicked the asses of Kyler and his bastard friends. Not just because it was satisfying to see the bullies be taught A lesson, but also because of how the fight was choreographed. I think the first fight Miguel Diaz had did A pretty good job with showing the way of how multiple opponents would fight, and while usually in these fights they all attack one at a time for no reason, the fight scene did it In a better way in my opinion.
The fight starts off with Miguel against the ugly-looking Asian kid Kyler, which makes sense, and once Miguel knocks him down and establishes himself as a threat, the others become alarmed and they decide to jump in, who aren't coordinated enough so they don't get to him at the exact same time
The first guy throws a punch, but Miguel dodges and sweeps his leg, which quickly incapacitates him, and in the mean time another guy gets to Miguel, so he kicks him in the groin, which manages to slow him down. It's fine to fight dirty when its 4 on 1 to me since the bullies aren't playing fair either.
Another guy then attempts to get him, but Miguel Uses the environment around him so he can put some distance between him and the bullies, which is A very clever strategy, and Miguel also prevents them from bull-rushing him at the same time due by using tables and chairs. I thought the part of where Miguel kicks one of the chairs so one of The Bullies would trip was cool and very clever.
Then as they get back up at different times, Miguel uses A Lunch Tray as A weapon to finish them off while staying above ground and on tables so they again cannot just surround him. So looking back at Miguel using the skills that his Badass Sensei taught him, the school fight had great choreography.
Episode 5 from S1 was the first episode I watched, and after I watched it, it got me very interested in the show. When Cobra Kai came to Netflix, I watched the rest of Season 1 and I was very sold on the show after watching it. Season 2 was also good, and I can't wait for Season 3 in January of 2021.
