Dan Humphrey is over hated

Dan in season one is arguably one of my favorite characters in the show. Him and Serena’s relationship in season one was the least toxic and the most honest until Georgina came along. Dan deserved better than the end of that relationship. His writing in season six has to be taken from a certain perspective. All Dan ever wanted was to be apart of the UES. That’s said in the finale. So throughout the seasons when Dan sees backstabbing and manipulation in what are supposed to be tight friendships he gets this sense that you have to be this way to be accepted. So when he writes in season 6 all the things about the others, he is doing it because that’s what he thinks he has to. And him being gossip girl is stupid I won’t lie but the exposes make sense in terms of him wanting to be accepted by everyone else.
