Remastered updates that match Part 2?

SpoilerQuestion

This is hardly news, so I'm sorry if this isn't really that relevant!

I'm starting yet another playthrough of Part 1 - and as a quick aside, the PS5 plays little snippets of a game's theme music when you hover over its icon, and that scratchy, lone violin version of the main theme never fails to make my chest hurt, particularly after Part 2.

Anyway, I'm not very far through, but I've noticed what I think may be some changes introduced with that surprising update we got earlier this year, but I'm not sure whether I'm just going crazy. I got into a small fistfight with a couple of Robert's guys, and I noticed that I was being given the triangle dodge prompt incredibly frequently. I know this prompt did exist in the game prior to this, but in my experience it was pretty rare to get it - I experienced it maybe twice per playthrough, if that. But within this one fight I was given the option to dodge three or four times. Then again, I haven't played Part 1 in a while so it's entirely possible that my memory is downplaying how frequently the prompt used to be given before the update. I also noticed that after the fight, Joel's nose was visibly injured, to the point where he had blood running over his lip and down the sides of his face and to his neck. Prior to the update, I thought that the only visual indication of Joel being injured outside of a cutscene was a bloodied bandage after he applied a medkit. Again, it could just be that I haven't played Part 1 in so long that I'm forgetting, but I thought this may have been a new detail.

It did occur to me that these may have been a couple of tweaks added to make Part 1 feel a little more similar to Part 2, which of course had the dedicated dodge button and quite detailed post-fight injury visuals. What do you guys think? Am I just overthinking and misremembering?

Not entirely sure with the button prompt, but I definitely remember Joel being visually injured (blood running down his face) prior to that update.

From what I understand, this surprise update gave a much quicker loading time especially for PS4 users (and I'm assuming it's loading even faster for PS5 users). Beyond that, I'm unaware of any changes.

Maybe I was just doing the game a huge injustice with my memories of how much detail it didn't have! I swear, the dodge prompt was almost mythical to me on all of my previous playthroughs, whereas the game can't get enough of offering it to me on this go around, but that could just be coincidence. The update definitely made for quick loading times on PS5, strangely though it doesn't improve things much on Part 2 if you load certain chapters/encounters after finishing the game.

The triangle prompt is just random. Theoretically, you could get it once every fight every single playthrough, or never through any playthrough that you do. It's entirely random.

Now, I do specifically remember Joel being injured in various places even on the PS3 version. This must just be a feature you have forgotten.

I did a cheeky little google and was reminded that there are more opportunities to dodge than I remembered (combat slowing down a little and offering an opportunity to dodge even when the button prompt doesn't appear, being able to block certain melee attacks if you have the appropriate melee weapon) so clearly I just have an absolutely terrible memory of the mechanics of Part 1! I must have come from playing Part 2, where they'd refined these mechanics, and just assumed that they never had them at all in Part 1.
