accidentally almost came out to my very orthodox family

so we were talking about islam, how muslims are oppressed in some countries and how some cherry pick religion to fit their own needs but the conversation shifted to other more serious stuff like the dude who drew mo in france, some islamophobic laws in my country etc. and i realized that my mum supports violence in the name of religion. i’d thought we were a moderate family, i wasn’t forced to wear hijabs and shit but apparently not. then i told her quran is an ancient book and we shouldn’t follow everything it says for a number of reasons and humans come before religion and we were having a normal debate up until this point (she was losing obviously) but then she began shouting about how i’m so small and don’t know anything, that i’ve only read a couple of articles on the internet (and ofc we should NEVER believe internet because everything is a LIE). It was fun seeing her get so worked up about something she don’t understand but then she started called me a disgrace and told me i didnt have faith, i’ll ruin this family, etc. I almost told her i don’t believe in religion but I have to leave this hell hole and they won’t let me if they knew my intentions or that i believe so i didn’t.
