‘Preparing Automatic Repair’

Whenever i start my computer it goes onto the motherboard logo screen, in my case msi, and sometimes states ‘preparing automatic repair’ and other times it will just have a loading symbol. I waited 30 mins to see if anything happens before finally checking if I’m on the right boot device. It then leads me on to screen to say that this couldn’t be fixed and gives me more options to revert any updates, go back to a saved boot and etc... If I click on any of these options it either freezes and has the option a selected become highlighted and eventually going back to the msi logo screen or the other options make the screen go very dark to the point that I can just see the options available. I waited an hour with this dark screen and nothing happened so I ended up restarting and getting frustrated at the msi logo screen. Any help would be very thankful.
