How to tell if it’s an outbreak or ingrown/pimple

I got diagnosed less than a year ago with ghsv1 and only had the initial OB so far. Today I noticed a hard bump on my outer labia. Not sure if this is cystic acne or a ingrown or the beginning of an outbreak. How do you tell the difference? It doesn’t hurt to touch or anything.
