How do you know if a boy likes you

I have like a colleague for a while now but I don’t know whether he feels the same way. I am not very good at relationships and I have always found it hard to make friends. Sometimes I feel like he is giving me signals. But then other times he would say that he doesn’t know why people are other colleagues keep setting us up and why can’t a girl and boy just be friends. But I wouldn’t even call us that. I am just so confused I want to know if I am wasting my time or not.

He did say to a colleague that I needed more experience but we were end game.
