1.1 - LifelongCaboose's Wired Headphone/Headset Guides

Beta Guide

----------------------------List of Guides---------------------------

Please read the following categories and follow the link to the next stage of the guide. Below will list all categories and the sub-categories to help you better know which way to go.

Sound Styles Index:

1.1a - Competitive FPS Sound Style

Who is this for - A focus on imaging and accuracy, usually bright treble and rolled off bass. This is for people who play fps to win.

Notes:

  • Bonus Sound Style - Warm FPS(attach link) - This is a variation of the Competitive FPS Sound Style. These are headphones that almost hit the requirements for Competitive FPS Sound Style but are a bit to warm (More bass(mostly mid-bass to mid-region) and sometimes a tad dark treble).

1.1b - Fun FPS Sound Style

Who is this for - A focus on wide soundstages and usually a V-shaped sound. This is for people who play FPS just for fun or for an extra immersive experience.

Notes:

  • I have decided to call it Fun FPS but this can also be considered Fun Gaming. So if you want just a fun sound but not for FPS, this Sound Style is still right for you.

1.1c - Music FPS Sound Style

Who is this for - Headphones that meet the criteria of the Sound Quality category first but can still offer decent competitive fps performance. Pretty much slightly worse for music.

Notes:

1.1d - Music Gaming Sound Style

Who is this for - This is the final name for the Sound quality first category (I know a unique name right).

This is for people whose main focus is Sound Quality and who want something with good tonal balance. This will work for Music and any sort wants non-fps gaming (it will work for FPS gaming just won't focus on it). Many here will also be found on the FPS guides. In general, if you're not into COMP FPS this is the guide id recommend using. they can be just as immersive as FUN FPS options but don't have to sacrifice tonality.

Notes:

1.1e - All in One (AIO) Gaming Sound Style

Who is this for - This Guide will be a quick list of All in ones or Headsets. This is the simple guide for people who for whatever reason want an AIO over all else. 90% of these all in ones listed will be in the other Sound Styles.

I also have to mention that going for separate headphones and mic is better overall in terms of ease of upgradability, futureproofing, and less interference and issues overall.

But there are many great AIO units so if that's what you need this Sound Style Puts them all together in one handy guide.

This category will be very weird and different. As it will include other info like basic Soundcard info and more.

Notes:

1.1f - Music Sound Style

Who is this for - This category may be temporary and will change a lot. I will not be working on it for a bit. This would be for people who don't care at all about gaming and just want something purely for music. This will most likely split off when I rebrand the guide again in 2022.
