New miner needs help using third party tools.
Hey y'all. New player just trying to mine for the first time. I have my ship outfitted and I'm trying to find a spot to mine.
There are so many third party apps I'm not sure which to use. Im using edtools.cc and it tells me to go to a system that is 100ly away, but in game it shows up as 300ly away. Is the site not accurate? I don't want to waste my time if it's not.

You have to TELL miners tool the start System First then select the ITEM type...
If you mess up it will default to SOL system even if you are not in SOL...
You also have to get the spelling and numbers spot on when you type in the location in galaxy map as well which is why it has copy and paste click items on page...
Unlike inara that can use the Fdev provided Capi support to get your location on updates , miners tool does not, so it requires manual entry every time of the current location every time you change section system
The miners tool and nearly EVERY third party web site all use the exact same data all from EDDN uploads... when you click search theres normaly a display saying getting data from EDDB, EDDB gets its data from EDDN as well...
Just double check the systems you entered normaly its user error...
I cant enter a location first theres no "submit query" button on the miners tool. I can only select what material I want.
