Did they give any reasons for the delay? It is possible that when assessing for repairs they uncovered a major problem (severe damp, asbestos, fire safety issue etc). Or the job has simply got lost in the chaos caused by the pandemic.

Also, how urgent are these repairs? If it's cleaning/decoration-based that's something you could offer to assume responsibility for - far from ideal but at least it would get you moved in quicker. If it's a scheduled upgrade to kitchen/bathroom/heating you can push to move in now anyway and accept the disruption when they do the work.

Another route to take is to get a letter from a specialty nurse saying that your current accommodation is unsuitable. Even better if they decide it's become unsafe due to the stairs being too much for your partner. If they've been notified of a health/safety risk it should increase the priority of your rehousing.

My partner is receiving chemotherapy currently, we were placed for priority housing due to his fatigue (he struggles with using the stairs and bathroom). We were offered a property and were told that it'll only be a few weeks for repairs, that was back in November and the property hasn't been touched. My partners condition has worsened since then and our current housing isn't appropriate and I'm unsure what to do. We haven't signed any contracts yet.
