> Edit: I'm not exactly sure if SSW is available in Australia, nor can I say with certainty if MegaMek Labs is, but both of those can get you record sheets. Battle Value is always displayed on the record sheet. For more information, Sarna.net is the best wiki in the Inner Sphere, and it can tell you so much more than I can. Best of luck and have fun!!

Both are available anywhere an unfettered internet connection exist.

Thanks mate! Will read over this a few more times :)

It's nowhere near as complicated as it looks. There are some in-depth rules, but if you can find someone to play with, I recommend a "grinder".

Make a list of 'Mechs by Battle Value (BV) and tonnage from low to high (i.e. a Panther would be in the lowest group and an Annihilator would be in the highest). Make 4 groups of 10 'Mechs each following the above criteria. Assign each 'Mech in each category a number (I recommend this be done by BV) from 1-10. To start, each player (or yourself, you can do it alone, but it won't be as fun) rolls 1d10 (a 10 sided die, if you're not sure what that is) and takes the 'Mech with that number on the lowest category. That means everybody will probably start in a Light 'Mech. Then you just try to obliterate everybody's 'Mechs. If your 'Mech is destroyed or pilot killed, you roll 1d10 on the next category (so a really good Light or a Medium) and get right back into the battle.

You can find the sheets for each common 'Mech on Solaris Skunk Werks (it's

Hey thanks for that. I’m a bit intimidateded by learning what looks to be an overwhelmingly complex game, so hoping there may be some local clubs or a shop or something similar.

If you get nothing here, try BattleTech Downunder on FB
