Not pictured: the cat falling into the tub like an idiot.

41C? That's on the border of being uncomfortable.

Torak_wolf_renn•

Yea, too cold.

Sure, if you're a fan of sterilizing your jewels.

cheaper than vasectomy innit

You haven't seen the trope about women loving scalding showers? That's basically lukewarm.

32
Chathtiu•

A hot tub is usually around 100-102 F. This is 104 F.

20
NatoSphere•

My hot tub only had one setting that worked, which was 105. The first couple times it took me 10-15 minutes to get fully in. Got used to it eventually though.

5
Chathtiu•

105 F is pretty darn toasty.

1
palpablescalpel•

I just checked my shower temp this evening and my ideal is between 110-115! I won't say I'm not entirely pink when I get out but sometimes you need a good scald. That aligns pretty well with me thinking hot tubs are usually just a very good temperature but could be better.

Japanese baths are fucking hot. They can be up to 42 degrees. It takes ages to get in if you aren’t used to it, so it’s recommended that you splash your extremities and then the rest of your body with similar temp water before getting in.

It’s super awkward trying to lower yourself into an insanely hot bath when there are a bunch of naked people are in there with you too. Worked at a ski resort over there and the only option was a public bath for each dorm, and after dinner there’d be at least 20 people hanging out in there. Nothing funnier than a naked westerner trying to ease into what feels like boiling water also attempting to kinda cover their ass at the same time

Once you’re in though, it’s amazing, especially outdoor ones. Chuck the little hand towel soaked in cool water on your head and you’re set. Our hotel in the middle of Tokyo had a brilliant rooftop bath, sitting out there alone in the rain with the sounds of the trains, sirens and city buzzing away below was actual heaven. A cold or lukewarm shower afterwards feels awesome too, not uncomfortable at all like you’d expect. Your core temp is higher so it just feels refreshing.

Thanks for attending my fascinating TED talk on Japanese baths

Similar experience I had was house-sitting this ridiculously expensive and reclusive house. It was in the middle of gorgeous rolling hills, no other houses in sight, and it was winter though not yet freezing. It had a roof-top pool and sauna and sitting in the sauna, dipping water onto the hot rocks, till you thought you were going to melt and then jumping into the not heated pool was exhilarating (especially once I got over myself and ditched the swim trunks as well.) Edit: Just had such a vivid memory come back to me I had to share, the sauna was all local cedar wood, smelled amazing! I just smelled it again.

Hakone is known to be a little on the warmer side at about 42C (you can usually find a certification with temperature and minerals at an onsen) and Atami has this 44C onsen. 42C is somewhat toasty but 44C is definitely too much. Even the other Japanese guests were barely dipping in.

Man, I hope that 41c is the water temp, not the air.

41C wouldn't be bad at all to get your steam on....

The art is gorgeous but who tf bathes in the morning?

27
Ainalhafila•

Me! It's the only way I can wake up.

58
Krimi_Nell69•

As a person who felt asleep while taking a bath more than once I'm shocked

16
Ainalhafila•

Yeah, different kinds of baths I guess. It's probably because I grew up without a shower. Taking a bath just makes more sense to me. But it's more filling hot water in a bucket and dunking it on yourself than filling up the whole tub.

Langernama•

Both could work, the act of showing your self with water

Try lowering the heat. If you're bath is extremely hot, your body will be trying to cool off which will make it think it's getting ready to fall asleep. Oddly enough, having a cold shower before bed can actually do the same, and the cold therapy helps you in more ways than just that one.

Cold showers in the morning wake you up, but before bed they make you sleepy... No idea why lol

4
Krimi_Nell69•

I absolutely get it with showers. But what's the point of bathing when you don't nearly cook yourself? It's sooo enjoyable

1
dovahart•

Not a shower?

14
Ainalhafila•

Sometimes, but I'm currently living in a place without a functional shower so I make do.

Me, especially on weekends.

It also helps that I've got a Japanese bathtub like this one so all you need to do is press a button to fill it up with the right temperature.

Why is this nsfw?
Nothing is shown and it's not even sexual.

7
F0beros•

I guess it depends on how people at your work react to you browsing reddit

10
A_Light_Spark•

In that case everything on reddit is nfsw

4
HrabiaVulpes•

Bingo!

3

I agree with you, but to many people especially on the internet, girl with some skin showing = sexiest sex ever sexed

7
kodicraft4•

I wonder how this would've went with a man. Probably not much differently, to be honest, but it would be an interesting experiment. Perhaps seeing a strong, masculine-as-fuck, bearded biker taking a relaxing bath could even be funny!

1
abacateazul•

She’s showing her pussy, man.

2
UpshawUnderhill•

Um... those little waves in the water are there for a reason... as is the expression.

1
A_Light_Spark•

So you are saying nothing sexual is shown? Well I'd never guessed that.

0
AbsurdistMonk•

I wish my bathtub had a thermostat. I’d never leave lmao. I also wish my bathtub didn’t sink all the heat out of the water into the foundation but cest la vie I guess.

3
FearlessPen•

I know it is a drawing but what is that thing behind her head that says 41c?

2
OofDidyBoof•

Either an air conditioning controller or a water temperature thermometer, which I would say it's the water temp seeing that 41 degrees celsius is 105 Fahrenheit

Edit: if you hadn't figured it out already or just forgot. I didn't realize this was 4 days old lol

2
FearlessPen•

Still haven't figured it out! Also water temp?? What's that for/used (in a bath context)

2
OofDidyBoof•

Controlling the hot or cold of the water, I suppose instead of a handle.

2
FearlessPen•

Ooo fancy
