does the quest 2 headphone jack ignore the microphoneyou plug into it?

I'm trying to connect my headset that has a flip to mute mic and it is still getting mic inputs when the mic is muted. I know the quest 1 was output only, is that the same case here? Am I SOL if I want a quick way to mute my mic in game without opening the oculus menu?
