[Question] Any Tips for a death metal drummer to learning guitar?

I’ve been playing drums for over 5 years but I just recently picked up guitar. Any tips to learn most metal material, including solos? Thanks!

Edit: Also any tips for balancing practice between two instruments? Drums is still something I need to practice regularly in order to keep techniques (I:e blast beats, heel toe) up to snuff!
