Brand new build working fine untill after installing adrenalin drivers, no input signal from rx6800 in top pcie slot, bottom slot works. Top slot works with my old rx560.

GPU Drivers: 27.20.14501.18003 (Adrenalin 20.11.2) DCH / Win10 64 (taken from gpu-z)

Description of Original Problem: I had just finished my new build and installed windows, everything was working fine and as intended. I downloaded AMD Adrenalin to update my drivers. In adrenalin I left every driver checked to install but switched from recommended Adrenalin version to the latest version. After installing the drivers Adrenalin askes me to restart, so i clicked restart now. My pc restarted but i had no screen input from my rx6800. My monitor just won’t take any signal from it.

Troubleshooting: I had trouble removing my gpu because my cpu cooler was in the way so I tried my old rx560 in the bottom slot and that worked. Here are things that I tried in order that didn't work:

I used ddu to delete all drivers.

I did a fresh install from windows.

So after that I dismantled my cpu cooler and reseated my rx6800.

I tried my rx6800 in the bottom slot and it works fine in the bottom slot at pcie 3.0 x4. So I than tried my rx560 in the top slot and i works fine at pcie3.0 x8, which is the normal speed of my rx560. Might be worth mentioning that when i go the device manager, under other devices i see 2x pci device and 1x pci encryption/decryption controller with a yellow exclamation mark indicating some sort of problem idk. So to recap, since the adrenalin driver update I have not been able to get a single monitor signal from my rx6800 in the top slot, only in the bottom. My rx560 works fine in both slots.

 

Update: Went into BIOS and set pcie settings from auto to zen 3 and from x16 to x8x8 and this works, but x16 still doesn't work?

Update 2: It works in PCIe 4 x8, but not x16 in both gen 3 and gen 4
