Polar GPS didnt track my first kilometer

My Vantage M did track the kilometers and speed, but didnt track my route until after 1 kilometer. Woensdag I exported my run to Strava, I lost 1 km on my run. Anyone got a remedy? Thanks!

When you say it didn’t track the route how exactly do you mean?

Do you have a start point and then basically a straight line up to 1km and then it starts to ‘accurately’ track your route?

Or is there just nothing for 1km and then it kicks in?

Either way I’d go with gps dropping out. Did you start the activity straight away? It’s best to leave it several minutes before starting to give a good strong fix. Personally I put the watch onto the selected activity screen in the house whilst getting ready and then walking to my start point.

Yeah I started the activity straight away. So on the map of my activity it started registering the route at the 1km mark. So it registered my kilometers travelled and heart rate and what not, but not my route I travelled until the 1km mark. There the route starts.

So when I uploaded it to Strava, Strava just calculates the route provided by Polar I think. So I lost 1 km on Strava. A friend of mine also said to keep the selected activity screen on for a few minutes before you start to run.

Most likely not had a gps fix then at the time you started and it’s estimated from start time to actual fix. Strava has just ignored that part.

In future definitely give the watch at least a few minutes to get a fix.

Yep! This happened to me when I first used my Vantage V because I was unfamiliar with the symbol for GPS (and what it was supposed to look like when a signal was acquired) relative to my previous M400 that really lets you *know* it doesn't have a signal

1 km is 0.62 miles
