Should I stick with a History MA or Switch to Education?

I recently graduated with a BA in history and intend to teach in Massachusetts. I have no teaching experience and as a result I'm thinking it might be best for me to go for a education MA so I can learn the basics. Would this be best? I'd rather keep going in history as it is my passion but I fear it won't give me anything toward teaching experience.
