If every FF game had romance in it, which you still love the series, or would you get tired of it?

I was first introduced to Final Fantasy with FFIX and FFVIII, with the latter being considered to have the most emphasis on romance in the series, probably even more than FFX, if not on par. I finished FFIX way back in 2002, and while the romance wasn't as emphasized as that of FFVIII, the >!ending where Zidane and Garnet embrace!< shows that there was some degree of romance in there. It's through the 3 aforementioned games, mainly because they were released one year after the other, that I was lead to believe that Final Fantasy, among a well-written and beautifully crafted narrative, that romance is a key element of every FF story. And FFXII kinda broke that perception, since I was initially lead to believe that there would be some romantic involvement between Vaan and Ashe, since they're the leading male and female characters (although FFXII in general is more concerned with the political plot, making Vaan more of a plot device than an typical FF protagonist). By the end of the game, I learned that there is hardly anything between them, let alone romance, so I was kinda disappointed.

For me, I don't think I would get tired if every FF game had some degree of romance to it. I find the romance in FF beautiful, and I think maybe if every entry in the franchise had romance, even just a little, it would add a little more flavor to the game. After all, everyone loves romance in fictional works (movies, games, etc.). The fact that people still use it to date shows that it's definitely not something to be considered cliche. As love is basic human desire.

What is your opinion on romance in FF? Do you think the series could do more with it, Or are you tired of it?
