To (Add) Smut or Not to Smut?

As the title suggests, I'm struggling to decide whether or not I should add smut (and subsequently bump up the rating) to my slowburn longfic. Some background info: I've written smut before, though not for this pairing. My fic is rated 'Teen' on AO3. It's 14 chapters long, 63k words, the main pairing (Geralt/Jaskier) has now gotten together, kissed, and confessed their feelings, but agreed not to take it further because of plot-related reasons. There are hints that they both want more, and my readers were super excited when they first kissed a few chapters back. I'm planning on hinting at some sexy times in a bathhouse next chapter (like VERY indirect hints), so my dilema is: what then?

On one hand, I don't think it needs smut, as they can't truly be happy together until the major plot drama is resolved >!Jaksier is a fae in the story and Geralt has been trapped in Faerieland against his will after Jaskier saved his life!< so I could have a satisfying conclusion that way. I also don't want to turn away current/future readers by including smut and having a higher rating. Also I'm wary of writing this pairing explicitly for the first time in this story.

On the other hand, I feel like the leap to sexy times is a logical one and I kind of want to write it. ESPECIALLY since this is a creature!Jaskier story and so has that fun dynamic. It's also already a romance story so the smut wouldn't be entirely unexpected. I even feel that some readers may be disappointed if the pairing don't have sex at some point. I think it could add emotional depth to my story too. But I'm not entirely sure.
