Looking for a small private cinema/screening room in shanghai

Hey there, I'm looking for a small private cinema/screening room/ private home theater for about 20 - 30 people in shanghai.

Want to rent it for a couple of nights to get a small browncoat meetup in shanghai ( if you don't know what i'm talking about drop everything you are doing right now and run to the nearest dvd shop to get "Firefly" season one. Educate yourself FFS!)

If anyone knows of such a place, please let me know. Cheers DA

There's a bar called The Chalet that has a screen and sound ability. Nice place, kinda posh inner-planet-ish, but might be suitable. Not too expensive either. 385 Yongjia Lu, 3401-0958. Ask for Dennis, he's the manager.

The Chalet is a good suggestion, and if that doesn't suit you can check Dada bar, they do weekly film screenings of their own and may be into getting some extra business during the mid-week.

i bet you a million bucks pretty much any ktv would work with you to make this happen. Every one that I have been in has a large projector, and the last time I went to one, there was seating for at least 20 just on the couches. What area are you in? I also have two hd projectors, I could possibly rent ya one for a couple days.

Didn't think about KTV, but that was not really the setting I was looking for :)

I'm in JingAn, but before i rent an HD projector I could do it at my place, which i try to avoid :)

Really not sure about this one, but I know that the French Alliance of Shanghai shows movies once a while. Maybe you could try your luck there? Website:http://www.afshanghai.org

Try the Vienna Cafe on Shaoxing Lu. It's quite cute, will easily fit 20-30 people, and the food is great (if absurdly overpriced). It does attract a rather douchey clientele most days, though.
