The Stranger
Something’s in the way
But nothing’s out of sight
Im feeling myself tonight
But not the way you might
I gouged out my eyes
And put them on the desk
Its hard to say the rest Because then I saw the real me
He was ugly
But he was me
His hair was red and his eyes were green
His body was lean
He was me
He spoke eloquently
Smirking to show his sharp teeth beneath
And he was me
He knew all about me
But was a stranger all the same
I wish I could have heard him continue
But he had to abstain
For the truth is real and wicked
And must be kept under lock and chain
He then had to go
As quick as he came
And walked over to my eyes
To put them back in their frames
Nothing is out of sight
Im feeling myself tonight
But not the way you might.

Loved the imagery, and the way you described your inner Demons come out. I can just imagine being in a group thinking, how many people here have occurrences like that without anyone knowing? Great poem !
Thanks I appreciate it! Although I dont think of it as demons... more so as the real you! Truth may be ugly but it is not a lie ;)
