Feral/resto Druid fundamentals

Looking for some advice or a sort of list of arena 2s fundamentals that may or may not be specific to feral/resto. For context I’m currently bouncing between 1600-1800 (207 ilvl 21%vers) but haven’t been able to hit it yet, finished last xpack at 1900 with no dr tracker ui or anything but I was in full mythic gear so that probably helped.

Just trying to find some things to work on because I don’t like playing arena in comms and would much rather just get better to make up for the disadvantage whether it’s through better tracking/ awareness / match up knowledge etc.

Also as a side note it feels pretty silly but I find I just don’t have to damage to kill in cc windows without convoke, which makes me feel like I’m misusing my rotation for kills or just going too soon before all defensives are down, but I’m not sure. Either way it feels like I’m just dumb not being able to kill without convoke or them making a huge mistake.

Cheers.

Edit: before it gets mentioned I’ve watched snupy.

Need more specifics/clips of your game play otherwise we have to play the guessing game on what you're doing wrong.

Use https://thelootdistrict.com/ to help you with your talents.

I would suggest watching someone like Snupy/IdiotFeral/Cassidy/Sodapoppin/Tonyferalcat for game play. Snupy is probably the most verbal, but all of them are top notch.

If you feel like you don't do enough damage outside of convoke you're likely not setting up damage correctly or you're using your burst into defensives that just negate your damage.

Feral has plenty of on demand control/burst to net kills, odds are your DPS rotation/CD usage is kind of poor, thus leading to moments where you feel like you need to rely on convoke. I would suggest doing PvE to help you with your dps rotation.

Lastly, recording clips and just re-watching them yourself will help you a LOT with seeing your mistakes, even if they're minor the smallest adjustments can make large improvements.

I’d guess it’s probably the dps cds usage into defensives or poor dr tracking.

Thanks though, I realize it was vague so I appreciate what you could do with the info

Yes you watched snupy but go back to his latest feral guide to the rotation section. He mentions the exact ability order for pretty much every kill attempt you'll come across (opener, midgame, with berserk and without). You need to replicate that unless you think you have something better lol. Slow it down, write it in a text file, and practice it.

One of them is something like pounce, rip, fury + frenzy, bite, build to 5, bite. Another is something like 5cp maim, fury + frenzy, bite, build/bite. I haven't played feral in a bit so I could be wrong.

It's very important that you make optimal use of the legendary's free CPs in order to stack bites in a short window during a stun. This means that your exact timing of tiger's fury can make or break your kill attempt; you want to fury after you've already maim/rip so only bites are left.

For sure, I hadn’t seen his breakdown of pushing kills without zerk / voke etc so this is good to know, thanks.

I tend to panic on really tight kill windows and skip on bleeds but generally it looks something like maim/bash meld rake (beserk) rip (1cp) fury frenzy bite bs bite bs bite until either you get defensives or they died. Toss it a focus kick or trinket as it fits.

Just record ur gameplay and post the clip here, what classes/comps you are struggling with?

Namely struggle with ret/hpal/disc/monk, stuff that either has so much upfront healing and utility that I can’t put through it during main windows without convoke,or has multiple reset buttons, or in monks case has so much uptime I can’t really find time to build points between running.

Can't really help you except telling you to watch streams, but just wanted to say like 95% of the top ferals don't even play Night Fae...
