Discussion

Hi All,

I am a moderator of r/UnemploymentWA and I invite you to visit and join our sub.

We are the largest state-specific unemployment sub on Reddit, and we have The Archive; a voluminous living library of all known policy, guidance, and experience-based solutions for unemployment in our state. On no other social media and in no other state is there a similar Archive, nor such a dedicated community.

Not only does The Archive encompass 99% of all resources relative to ESD/unemployment, its contents are available and are disseminated 24/7/365 by a very dedicated community of users, who are ever-expanding and ever improving their assistance. This allows each post to be resolved so the feed is not swamped, as occurs on other social media forums. Feel free to review any posts to see this evidenced.

Many users post that they attribute their claims finally paying to the community and The Archive, as you'll see.

We are not* a replacement for ESD, nor are we an extra step or hurdle. While some resolutions can only occur via a phone call to ESD, we find that the vast majority of inquiries are just simply clarification or informational: this is our niche.

While those who were on unemployment prior to the pandemic may find the system simple, those who were only introduced to it by way of the pandemic and are now seeing multiple rounds of legislation and different benefit types and parallel benefits are simply woefully unprepared - understandably.

The immediate and long-term positive impact of getting money and aid into the hands of needy Washingtonians who will spend it to help recover a demand-shocked economy cannot be overstated.

If you are experienced in these matters, we want you.

If you are inexperienced in these matters, we want to help you.

If you are simply bored and curious, we also want you too.

We look forward to working with you!
