WA State Army National Guard
I am extremely frustrated, and hoping I can get help on here (this is my first time posting on Reddit). I am in the Army National Guard (ANG) and reported my drill pay last week. I just submitted my weekly claim for this week, but it asked about ANG and I indicated I did not work for them this week, and that resulted in me having to put why I did not work for them. The only appropriate answer I could select from the drop down was “leave of absence.”
Now, my claim is pending and needs further information about being able and available to work which is stressful. I attached my last pay stub showing we only make limited income for drill pay, along with a statement. My frustration comes from waiting 15 weeks the first time to get paid after I was fired for joining the ANG (yes my lawyers took care of this), and then I had to wait another 10+ weeks even after contacting my representatives three times to get paid on January 27, 2021 after completing basic training. I just don’t get why this is so difficult and don’t want to be in adjudication again for 3-4 months - it is mentally, emotionally and financially draining going through this.
I am now wondering if I was even supposed to report my ANG earnings; and if so what am I supposed to do when I only get paid once every month for drill weekend? If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it. I think I’m going to have to contact Jaime Herrera Beutler again, because she was the only one that responded to my email - none of my other representatives in the 49th district ever got back to me despite emailing them twice within 6 weeks. ☹️
