This game truly allows the creation of beautiful characters. Sadly i cant bring myself to like the rest, so i basically only play Character Editor :D

No, i actually only have about 2 Hours per day to play, lifeskilling seems to revolve about generating money thats then wasted in a RNG-Driven Upgrade System that also consumes a lot of time. I like to play games where you can play coop with friends, but i havent really seen that in BDO yet.

the gear enhance system is revolved around rng but upgrading gear is not. You don't have to enhance if you don't want to, you can just buy gear from the marketplace.

Yeah play the slow grind game, do what u enjoy even if it’s not the most profitable or even you don’t have a lot of time for it. Eventually you’ll be able to buy upgrades from the MP. I think a single player game approach to BDO is best, not trying to compete with the top 1%.

As these guys posted below you can totally avoid the enhancement system. I am full-tet gear (blackstar / kutum) and I did not enhance any of it. I do imperial boxes, fish and sometimes bartering. Make about 100m per day just pissing around in game and doing ONLY the things I enjoy. I wish there were more group content, but that doesn't seem to be a thing in any mmo these days if you are a casual player.

The character Editor is actually too limited to make every look possible. When you spend some time in it, you will find that many sliders actually only have 5 positions or so in which they can be set. So it might be impossible to craft a lookalike that is actually satisfactory. I Rather go with Faces where the Sliders allow some leeway with the Proportions, so im afraid i cant really help you.

I do have presets for Sorc, Valk, Mystic, Lahn, Nova and DK altho im not very happy with how the DK looks. Now that im Happy with how the Nova looks im yet to decide what class to "play" next :) Probaly female again tho.

character design is beautiful, open world is beautiful, that is about it
outfits are horrible, game play is fun for the first like 100 hours then it's repetitive as fuck whether it's killing mobs or lifeskilling, pvp is absolutely horrible for those who don't like it
a good game for first 100 hours of play and occasional come back when they expand map, other than that not a game you keep playing every day

Honestly that's me with fighting games. I usually hop on r/tekken and other related subs but playing the game is a different story. But just because I don't enjoy the game doesn't mean I go shit on it. The thing about it is just that it takes too much investment to get good at it and I'd rather play something else, but that aside I like fighting games.

That is perhaps true for most (all?) MMOs. Once the novelty wears off it’s repetitive, predictable gameplay. At least BDO can be played as a background game.

Even then I got fed up with selling fishes everyday after a couple months lol
On top of that the population being toxic AF and you can't avoid PK doesn't help at all
