It might not be (that) fast, it might not be an M, but as a college student it's my first BMW and I hope it'll serve me well (2020 X2 xDrive)

Could you sound any more depressing? Why do you do that? You're effectively a teenager driving a brand new BWM. I had a 1974 Dodge Dart. And it wasn't 1974. Cheer up.

This subreddit is definitely a showcase of all the very best BMWs out there so it's just a bit intimidating to post mine!

I like your X2. I have a 2020 X4 M40i. The SUV that shouldn't be. Its so damn fast, LOL...

Is the X4 M40i a turbo six? I just wish mine had the turbo six too. Even the M-sport spec of the X2 keeps the 4-banger, which is a bit disappointing.

Indeed it is!

I needed a quality road trip car with room for gear, but wanted something that was still a blast to drive and could perform well in a range of conditions. As a college student, I couldn't splurge on something crazy, but BMW has a good balance of luxury, performance, and price in their lower end cars.

I can't imagine the X2 is much of a fan favorite, given its middling performance and the somewhat strange looks, but at least she's mine and is a blast to drive around. She looks great in her natural habitat of snow and ice, and I'm looking forward to putting the X2 through its paces in some nasty conditions.

I went for the X2 over the X1 or X3 because I truly don't like large SUVs; the X2 strikes a great balance of cargo and car-like cornering and performance.

Maybe in the future I'll upgrade to something a little more along the lines of the fantastic cars I see here on this subreddit; but for now, she'll do just fine :)

Beautiful Machine! Congratulations!

Thank you!! I was worried that such a weird black sheep of a BMW would get an unfriendly reception here.

It's still a BMW! All that matters is that you like it. Looks to me like you did your research and found the model right for you. Enjoy it!

Congrats, welcome to the club

Don’t worry, it will break down just as much as an M//. For less money.😂

The savings for not going for M// I suppose continue long into the service life of the vehicle...

It’s faster than mine, I can guarantee you that. But I kind of like the X2 it’s like a slightly lifted 1 series hatchback.

That's exactly how I see it, too. It's a great form factor. It has the hatch-like back for great cargo accessibility and has good ground clearance, but it's not as big and tall as a typical SUV so it corners more like a car.

That’s part of why crossovers have taken over the market.
