I am curious what kind of entertainment exists in the world of Cyberpunk. Do they have video games on shards that you can play as a simulation, like the training exercise at the start of the game?

VR sets are also a thing in Cyberpunk, you can even play with 1 in a mission. I also wonder if you could play videogames in BD? Someone should tell Hideyoshi Oshima about this...

Well, BD headsets only seem to be needed for exploring memories because the training shard from the tutorial seems to work without external hardware. It may have to do with fitting you into someone else's body, so a game could use a shard if you are your avatar. Especially if they aren't trying to capture every little detail like a BD does.

Somewhere it mentions that BDs scrolled from the frontlines of the war are popular, so virtual warfighting is a thing.

They really should've had BDs as activities in the game, like a literal BD recorder and you could play it back like the GTA video editor. Or just play some of the illegal creepy ones from a dude and get some side quests from doing some detective work on it. Why do they have the futuristic idea of a BD and netrunning but you never get to actually explore that besides being in some story quests.
