I will always find it interesting, that normies don’t get the actual gist of how much work goes into the shows and movies they casually click through.

I think around 40h of editing.

Could've been less but I wasn't in a hurry. I was just having fun editing.

My god. I edit vlogs as my main hustle. I’d love to see what effort you’ve put in with 40 hours!

Would someone mind explaining to this gentle moron what a 'rush' is?

2
cedarssilverOP•

Think he's calling himself a 'gentle moron' in jest.

3
cedarssilverOP•

Yup my bad :/ but I was infact a moron for not reading the comment more than once :p

beantrouser•

Oh. I am the gentle moron. I see how one could interpret my comment as if I were angry. My mistake. Thank you for educating me, the gentle moron.

cedarssilverOP•

Ohh shit I am very sorry. I did interpret your comment in a wrong way ;p

And I don't know how many people use the word Rush or if it's a professional term but here in Lebanon we use this term..

beantrouser•

I'm pretty sure I've heard it before in the U.S. but never knew what it meant.

Haha your implication was clear from your first comment dude, no worries. But hey, aren't we all morons?

Nobody has actually answered you, so “rushes” or “dailies” are the raw, unedited shots from camera. This comes from film production where the previous “day’s” shots are “rushed” through development and sent to the director to view.

In modern post production, though, dailies usually refers to the transcoded (proxy) versions of the digital raw camera files.

2

Ah! Ok, yeah, I had wrapped my head around the concept of 'dailies', just didn't realize rushes were the same thing. Also I've found the terms confusing in modern times as directors obviously get to see their footage immediately now. And using these terms to apply to proxy files seems unrelated and even more confusing. :\

So thanks for helping this gentle moron!
