Just got a pop-up on desktop from the wargaming.net game center

Discussion

Not exactly about WOT itself, but more about the game center program. It was running in the background and just displayed a pop-up about a WOT event, not even allowing me to close it permanently. It wouldn't go away until I clicked a button, and the buttons were, "Solute!" (Learn More) and "Remind Later". How about a "Never show this again" button?

I am very passionate about ads on my local machine. My computer is not free real estate. You may show me ads on your website, NOT MY COMPUTER.

Where is the option to turn these ads off!? If there isn't one, there should be.

  1. I think you confused reddit for wg support.
  2. If you uninstall the game center it's ads should go away. Don't really know for sure though. Maybe ask wg support?

  1. Companies often branch their support teams off to Twitter, Reddit, and Facebook. Regardless, I wanted to bring this up with people, as well as ask if anyone (a player) had found an option to turn these off. I don't think unstoppable ads on my personal machine are ok. I wanted to hear what other people thought too.
  2. Sure, but then I wouldn't be able to access WOT and other Wargaming games.

You can quit wg center by clicking the little arrow thing down bottom right near sound can’t you? I believe I have done this before

Understood. I still just have a problem with the fact that they don't have an option to turn them off.

I’ve never had an ad from it. Even after coming off the game for a little while and doing something else on my computer.

Yeah, it happened for the first time for me today. It may be something they just implemented. Not sure.

What next, you don't want GC to mine bitcoins on your machine?
