[META] How to tell if user is actually Japanese, or just trolling
Since there's been a few people taking advantage of EFL for easy karma...
- Japanese users tend to post during what most Redditors in the US would consider 'night time'. According to my clock it's about 7:32 in the morning in Japan, so in a few hours we will hopefully get a fresh batch of legitimate EFLs.
- They use short, nondescriptive usernames. Think "derpsuke12", not "CamelCasedNoveltyAccount".
Perhaps when Sukosuti comes back online he can restrict the reddit to approved submitters (and delete this metapost). For now, just downvote the karmawhores.
EDIT: I seriously hope the students don't see this and misinterpret it (or misunderstand it). We definitely do like your work, and it's a interesting way of providing the cultural background I feel most language curricula lack. It's also a good medium of cultural exchange - after all, how many people on Reddit here actually are Japanese? How many of us on Reddit can even speak Japanese? Hell, how many of us on Reddit are even weeaboos or Japanese animation fans?
