Answers to the FAQs for participating in this Subreddit

Mod Post

Welcome to r/IndianSkincareAddicts

This is how the sub's front page should look as soon as you type in the url.

These are the terms we use to describe what's on your feed.

To create a post, simple type in the create post bar.

You can access the wiki, monthly challenges and monthly newsletters here as well as here.

To search the sub, you can use this search bar or this one. I'd recommend this since reddit's search function can be wonky at times and this one searches through comments as well for relevant keywords.

If the layout of the page you're using is different, you're probably using the old reddit interface. I suggest you make whatever changes you need to, to use new reddit. We no longer update old reddit.

FAQs for using this Subreddit

  1. What and all can be discussed here?

*Copy pasted from the about this community blurb in the sidebar "*A space for Indians to discuss their varied experiences with beauty, with a strong emphasis on science. Our mission will be to explore international offerings as well as our equally effective desi products, particularly those found at our ever-dependable, local chemists across the road.

We discuss anything related to Skincare, Haircare, Makeup, Personal care and Wellness here.

Let the glow commence!"

  1. So does this mean I can discuss haircare and Makeup here?

Yes

  1. I am not able to post or comment? Am I banned?

You need to have a combined karma limit of more than 30 to post and more than 10 to post directly. If you have lesser karma, your post / comment is not deleted. Automoderator removes it from the main feed of the subreddit and adds it to the mod queue, where it's manually approved by one of the mods.

  1. What is karma?

Imaginary points you get in this website for participating / sharing useful content or knowledge.

  1. How do I get karma?

If you're a new user you would start off with 1 karma. With every comment / post you make you'll gain 1 karma. However your comment / post can be upvoted (if the other redditors like your contribution) or downvoted (if the other redditors feel your contribution adds no value). Assuming your comment is a normal, non rule breaking question for example, you may have to make 10 comments minimum to gain enough karma to skip mod approvals. If you are impatient, you could participate in one of the bigger subs like r/aww or r/Eyebleach etc and gain enough karma in a single comment.

  1. It's been an hour since I commented / posted, please approve

We will. As long as no rules are broken.
