Shadowline: A supernatural/cyberpunk/noir server (with lots of drama!) of federal agents versus corporate spies
We need people writing agents on both sides of the story! (Civilians are also welcome!)
Set in 2178, Shadowline is a world where vampires and werewolves stepped out of the shadows in the early twenty-first century and slowly assimilated into the every day life the rest of humanity (more or less) enjoys. One of your neighbors is probably a vampire, and you probably have at least one cousin with a major cybernetic installed in their body. While technology hasn’t gotten quite as far as we had hoped, at least life is comfortable.
Our server focuses on the streets of Seattle and the efforts of the Division to keep the city safe, while the mysterious Wu Development Corporation and its agents stalk the shadows to further the company agenda. Stories tend to be more drama and spycraft driven, but occasional flashes of action aren’t uncommon. We’ve been around for a few years now and have a friendly, stress-free community that we’d love to see you in! There is a lot of lore, but don’t stress about catching up on server events; our users are excited to pass on the important bit so you can start writing in scenes as soon as possible!
Characters are not restricted to the following two factions (civilian life exists and thrives!), but it’s recommended to start here at first:
The Division: A federal branch of law enforcement focused on addressing supernatural crimes. Rogue werewolves, underground vampire feeding rings, anti-super crimes, illegal cybernetic implants- the Division’s mission is to protect all. They employ a variety of agents, supernaturals and humans alike, and work as investigators and specialists to unravel conspiracies to be the front line between the public and the horrors that lurk among us.
The Wu Development Co.: Funded by shadow money from the nation of Greater China, the WDC is a newcomer to Seattle but was quick to establish itself as a major player. To the public, they’re a development company looking to buy up and improve the city’s aging skyline and is known for its pro-supers hiring. Beneath the gold plating, the WDC sees itself as Prometheus, bringing the fire of a better life to the world. It works tirelessly to develop a cure for the downfalls of vampirism and lycanism in the hopes that it can combine the two traits into a truly immortal hybrid. Unfortunately, this great work demands sacrifices, and relies on its tight-lipped agents to test and monitor potential cures on civilians, as well as sabotage the Division’s efforts to uncover their plans.
