I tried transferring ETH from my Coinbase Wallet to a Metamask wallet and now it seems to be gone. Please HELP!

I definitely got in over my skis and should have been more careful but I'm praying that I didn't screw something up irreversibly. I tried to send some ETH from Coinbase to Metamask. I did this by going into Coinbase (not Wallet or Pro), went to my ETH > Trade > Send (Send crypto to another wallet) > Chose my amount and hit Continue > Scanned the QR code from Metamask and then completed the transaction.

It has been well over an hour since I executed and still do not see the ETH in my Metamask wallet. I don't see any transaction history on CB either. Oddly, my overall Portfolio in CB reflects as though the money is still there but my ETH line item has decreased. Any ideas? Please talk to me like I'm 5
