New Rule in Sub and Updated Removal Reason -

New Method Within Sub

####-----Foreword----- ^(This is just another step I am taking to avoid having to use an Automoderator Bot. Everyone hates them. If you haven't ran into them, consider yourself lucky. Also, Rules and Removal Reasons are invoked very rarely, maybe 1 in 50 posts+comments, mostly be users who are not aware that each sub is actively moderated. This is on top of what is currently in place, so this post is just me being really transparent and inclusive. See previous poll)

####-----Rule and Removal Reasons-----

  • A rule is a guidelines for posting and commenting.

  • A removal reason is the text that is sent to a user whose post or comment was removed because of a rule.

  • The new rule is:

"Check The Archive / Search or Scroll the Sub before posting, Please, search The Archive for answers before posting and scroll or search the sub as your question has likely been answered before."

  • The Removal Reason is:

"Duplicate/ Low Effort/ Searching This is readily available by searching, scrolling or maybe even Googling, or there was insufficient effort, detail or specificity in the post. This answer may appear in The Archive, which is posted at the top of the sub, in the "About" and "Menu" buttons, as a welcome message, in the posting guidelines, as a user flair, community description and is also a Rule in the sub.

Next time, please do some due diligence, as duplicate posts do not contribute to the progression of the community, and low-effort posts require extra clarification from our users, which is detrimental to the progression of the community.

Our community has worked very hard to make previous posts easily searchable. The Archive contains sections on Best Practices, Processing/Paid/Posted info, Essential Posts, Data Breach, Job Search Requirements/Activities/Suspension, UI&PUA Qualification differences, Adjudication& Appeals, Identity, Additional Related Posts: Taxes/1099/Corrections, Earnings Deductions, Refusal to Work, Essential Websites, Upcoming Posts, Additional Resources, and Known Issues. All of which are updated regularly.

We humbly apologize for this message, and we invite you to read some of our materials and post or comment again. Here is a common reply to the common question "How long does it take for an appeal/adjudication?"

####-----Footnote-----

If a post or comment is removed, its not necessarily a 'strike' against the person, just a learning opportunity. They could read some of our material and post again. This is not me going nuts moderating, its just me being transparent.

Something is considered "serious" if "The user has, through their concerted actions, shown that they do not value the community or its information." Even a ban could be temporary or appealed successfully.

####-----Menu/Recurring Posts----

This post has been added to the "Menu" or "Recurring Posts" tab at the top of the sub (the title depends on if you are on mobile or desktop)

####-----Invite----

I invite any user to comment constructively on how these rules/ removal reasons could be rephrased/implemented better, especially the Top Contributors and Rising Stars from the last State of the Sub, 2/14.

####----Edits----

12:34pm 2/14: I invite any and users to report any dubious future post or comment with the "Report" button. When you do this, the post or comment doesn't appear on the sub, it goes into a queue that I have to actively check, where I can then approve the post as "ok", or remove it and respond to the poster with a removal reason (there are more than just this one).
