Removing captions from Thumbnail in Photoshop?

I tend to use a lot of close-up images of game characters for my thumbnails, but these are usually dialog moments from in-game. I take a screen shot then move it to photoshop for thumbnail making, but I can’t seem to find anything on google about removing captions while making a thumbnail? I know I could easily just play without captions but I want to make sure my videos have captions for viewers who may be hard of hearing or deaf. I also just prefer captions myself lol Any ideas, tips, etc would be greatly appreciated!
