Which MB to get for music production?

Hi everyone,

This would be my first Apple product purchase so looking for some feedback.

I'm jumping to MB to use Logic and potentially Final cut as well. Plus some software development stuff for work (but thats like a sidebar as I would most likely continue that on my windows laptop)

No specific budget, but i also don't want to get a maxed out MBP (late 2019 model with i9, 64gb ram etc) that I'm hearing will probably be kinda not supported by Apple in a year or so due to the M1 release/advancements.

I'm open to waiting for month or two if there's any new MBP product version coming. Else, I'd like to go ahead and purchase my first ever apple product.

Which product and spec would you recommend for this use case?

Also, should I get applecare?
