help with setting up m-audio axiom 61 (2nd gen) with ableton
For the past two weeks I have been pulling my hair out trying to get my m-audio axiom 61 key (2nd gen) keyboard to work with ableton live suite 8. I have a windows 7 64 bit SP 1 system with an on board realtek sound card. When I start ableton, i can get sound to work using the Directx/MME driver type. The audio output device that works is "speakers (high definition audio device)". Here is my Midi Sync in the preferences showing that it does indeed see my axiom 61 because when I turn it off these do not show up on the list. However, I've tried to enable each of these inputs one at a time and do not see the "MIDI track indicator" light turn on as if ableton doesn't recieve any signals when i press a key on the axiom. I'm not sure what to do at this point so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've reinstalled the axiom drivers several times now. I also tried to use asio but don't even get any sound coming out of my speakers when it is in that mode.
Also, my axiom is connected through a usb port.

I don't know if anyone is interested but it turned out I had a faulty PSU which just wasn't giving enough power. I guess this made it so that my MIDI controller and my sound card weren't getting enough power as even ASIO didn't seem to work correctly.
