No way to explore other youtube channels

Question

This is annoying me so much!

My homepage is just videos from the channels Im already subscribed to (at least most of them). There is no new or related channels/content.

I feel like Im in a bubble and can't see whats outside, even if I watch a video from trending section.

I have YouTube Search turned off but not YouTube Watch History. Im non-premium if thats relevant. Any suggestions?

Yeah I miss the rabbit hole, finding new creators or interest on a whim.

I use to find all my best new music by just playing a few songs I knew and YouTube would take care of the rest. I miss that so much.

The most infuriating thing is being recommended videos you've already watched. Then there's the 'do not show more videos like this' option which is absolutely useless, don't bother wasting your energy on it.

Yes! That's whats gone; the rabbit hole.

Its been known for a bit that youtube was gonna start artificially creating content/watch bubbles for a while now(MatPat of Game Theory revealed this a while back during the COPPA drama I think). The best thing you can do is start using the search button to look up stuff and start looking past the first 5 suggestions, go to non youtube websites and see if the other communities are making youtube content, and use many of the websites designed to show you low view count videos like incognitube or astronaut.io. You can also tell youtube you are not interested in the video in the top right dots of its thumbnail from hovering over it. You are gonna have to put work into finding new content going forward.

I feel the same way. All my recommandations are from channels I’m already subscribed to or even videos I’ve actually watched. 😞

What do you want to watch? Just look up anything dude and sub to more content. If your feed is just meme channels it's memes of that genre you'll get. Whatever you're interested in take a gander and sub to some appealing channels.

How you gonna find new stuff, my man!? Heck, I watch r/videos and still it won't update.

Search for it bro! I only had attack on titan channels clogging my feed but then I looked up fishing videos, beekeeping channels, Formula 1 races, chess tournaments, Sea of Thieves streamers, and so much more random garbage I have a bunch of different genres in my suggested. Beekeeping also lead to finding AntsCanada, fishing videos got me to Brave Wilderness.

Try going to the subreddit for the Youtube channels you like. Usually other people making similar content post things about themselves in those places.

Well Youtube doesn't really attempt to promote channels that you aren't subscribed to. They want you to keep watching what they know you will spend time on, which in turn increases their ad revenue.

There needs to be a section to showcase new channels so that people like you can discover new creators and new creators can be discovered.

But alas, they are too reliant on their algorithm and if they haven't implemented a new section in the past 5 years, doubtful they will any time soon

You tube can go fuck themselves. And their ad revenues. Watch this bite them in the ass when people are done with their bs
