How Backports are handled ?

So I’m a new Mint user . What I have learned so Far is that Mint adopts new Ubuntu versions only in the LTS cycle .

What about backports ?

Does the mint team install with the small .2/.3 updates ?

So the User can use Libreoffice7 out of the box ?
