Hey guys, I'm an experienced indie/freelance game-developer called gamesitwatch, launching a Youtube series about the development of my casual game, Silly Bird, using various different software, including Gdevelop5, Photoshop, and FL Studio. I'm recording all my development sessions, explaining what I do as I go along. It's not a tutorial, per se, the aim is to give you a fairly complete insight into how a simple, casual 2D game is made entirely by a single individual. From the creation of graphical assets, animation, UI, sound and music, through building the game using pseudo-code in a framework "game-engine" like GDevelop 5, all the way to - hopefully - publishing it as a free to play game on a variety of platforms.

The game itself is going to have top-down view, simple controls, with the premise of a 2-year old child trying to chase the pigeons away in the park before Mom takes him home. The videos should all be around 45-60 minutes long.

The first episode includes the description of the main features, the creation of various characters and a basic background, plus writing some of the main logic in GDevelop. The plan is to post further episodes weekly.

Updates can be found by subscribing (obviously) or following my Twitter.

PS: The first video has some artifact, distortion and audio balance issues; I'm still learning to use OBS, VSDC and Audacity, and also scrambling to put together proper equipment for all of this, but I'm certain the production quality is gradually going to get better soon.
