They even built a little doghouse. They use it to inspect (combined with drones) when the area is restricted. Like when SN4 exploded and they couldn’t get into the area for some time. As it has some mounting brackets, they can install more cameras if needed and even sensors for gas leaks etc.

Has anyone else gotten some video of Spot doing its various tasks?

When I saw him (it?), it looked like it had a pretty neat LIDAR attachment. Tall dark-colored cylinder near the "head".

As for extra cameras, that is the inspection camera module from BD, so they should be good on that.

It looks like SpaceX added a light.

Gas sensors are a definite good idea.

Another SPOT robodoge with the new arm module would make a good partner for Zeus.

Yep. They named it Zeus.

Does that thing just autonomously roam around? How heavy is it? Like would it fit in a trunk? :)

According to Boston Dynamics spot weighs 55lbs

If you look up the spot videos on the Tested YouTube channel, you can get a good idea for its size etc.

IIRC it comes with software that allows it to autonomously patrol using posted 3d barcodes as positional markers, but not roam at random. For that you need someone controlling it, which is one of SPOT's potential uses, as a telepresence camera.

Easy to lift and even has built in lift handles. Would easily fit in a trunk. Please do not kidnap Zeus.

Edit: 3d, not 2d

'Looks like it has a lighter on top or something.'

Possibly on secondment testing new products for The Boring Company?

"looks like it has a LIDAR", not lighter (although personally I think it looks more like just the standard telescopic inspection camera module than a LIDAR system).

The reason I guessed LIDAR was because it appeared to be a mostly monolithic cylinder-shaped unit, with the flat face of the cylinder faxing skyward. I figured that if it was a camera, it would be more on a horizontal/articulating mount. (Unless it was a camera exclusively designed to take shots of the underside of Starship from below, but that contrasts with what others have said, with regards to what Spot has been tasked to do onsite)

At this link you can see the different attachments for spot. They have the "inspection" module and the LIDAR module on there. I think this looks closer to the inspection one which houses a Pan, Tilt, Zoom camera.

Looks like it has a lighter on top or something.

I'd so like the something to be not a flamethrower.
